Children's Occupational Therapy

The Children's Specialist Occupational Therapist is based at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow

Overview

The purpose of children's occupational therapy is to help the child achieve or maintain their maximum level of independence and to develop practical life skills so that he or she can participate to his or her full potential in the home and classroom environment.

The children's specialist occupational therapist's input to clinic:

The children's O.T. attends the clinics held at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and is able to assess patients and offer advice in the following areas:-



Clinic Checklist

You may need these items to hand for video consultations with the therapy team:-

  1. Standard comb
  2. 5” circular container with lid.
  3. Button/ snap belt – used to undo button at midline/ tummy level.
  4. Computer mouse.
  5. ½” round beads with holes.
  6. Drumsticks (you can use pencils).
  7. Theraputty or Playdough.
  8. Shoelaces for stringing beads.
